A Sketchbook for Rayne

I love small props for dolls. They add a fun element to pictures and help create a story. I decided to try and create a pattern to make some diary or  sketchbooks for my dolls.

Cinderella Project

This Cinderella Dress was created for Ellowyne Wilde my Tonner doll. Lovely layers of slippery material and a glitter bomb or two. Ellowyne is a lovely doll made by Robert Tonner. This one is Tiny Expectations I think she was a perfect doll to dress as Cinderella.

My dress is based on the New Cinderella movie with a few of my own twist to it.The first attempt is sitting in the closet waiting for me to figure out what to do with it. The skirt is too sheer so it will either need a seam ripper or a slip. The second attempt I am very happy. Ellowyne looks very ready for the prince’s ball.

I started this project looking for the perfect lining for the bodice, luckily I found some small scrapes in a very close color. Cutting the slippery fabric is lots of fun so I use a ton of pins to hold everything in place. Once every thing was cut out, I was able to do what I love most assemble my creation! I love how each piece stitched together begins to show how lovely the final look will be.

The Dress is currently for sale on ebay. I had intended to sell the dress on the doll but parting with Ellowyne is not an easy thing. She is my first Ellowyne and very lovely. I have also created a Cinderella pattern for the Kidz n Cats Dolls and American Girl that is very similar to this dress. These patterns can be found on my Doll website.
